Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Spice, Pumpkin Pants, Pumpkin Dance!
You know I love rhymes! 🙂
Why not carve out some HallowEAN sugar this month? That’s right, carve out some sugar here and there. There’s no escaping the temptation of candy and sugary treats is everywhere especially this time of year. No matter where I go, including doctor’s offices, bowls of colorful packaged candy is overflowing, much like the chocolate river in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.
And the sugary waterfall grows through the end of the year so let’s try to carve out some of the sugar from the get-go! “Get go with Mo Mo.” Ho Ho Ho! But that’s two holidays away.
Pumpkin is a nutrient dense vegetable that is plentiful this season. A few tasty tidbits to share: Add Pumpkin to your favorite baked goods and cut the sugar in half or mo’. Pumpkin has a natural sweetness to it along with Vitamin A, C, and fiber. If you add Cinnamon, that adds even more sweetness plus it helps control blood sugar. A win win! I love to make Pumpkin protein shakes/smoothies, soups, cookies, brownies, and pies. Most of you know that I rarely use sugar but love to find spices to satisfy my sweet tooth.
October is also Menopause and Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Happy Autumn and Halloween!
