Morselfy your Thanksgiving, diabetes, savings & a silly song

Go ahead and have some pumpkin pie, but try a sliver first..

You may remember my post from last year:

Don't overstuff yourselfThis National Diabetes Month, the National Diabetes Education Program Reminds You That Diabetes is a Family Affair

Diabetes is a challenging disease that affects the entire family in many ways. If you are living with diabetes or have a loved one with the disease, family support is very important when it comes to managing diabetes and preventing serious health problems such as heart disease, stroke, blindness, kidney disease, and nerve damage that can lead to amputation. It’s also important to know that if you have a family history of diabetes – such as a mother, father, brother, or sister – you are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes.

Is there a protein powder that you can recommend? I prefer to get my nutrients from the food itself but I think protein powders can be good in smoothies and maybe homemade protein bars for snack. I’m leery of all the hype on some of the bags. I’m not trying to boost muscle just find a good source of protein without a lot of sugar and preservatives. Also, I’m headed into early menopause so I don’t know if soy protein is a good source for me.

    1. Thank you for writing, Cheantell.

I rotate Sun Warrior Raw Vanilla, Vega One Natural & Garden of Life Vanilla protein powders. There are many clean, no soy protein powders out there and these are a few I always have on hand. Please let me know if you try any and what you think OR if you discover a new one. I am ALWAYS searching for clean, quick protein sources to pack when I’m on-the-go and traveling. Happy #Morselicious #Holidays!
