Morselicious March

Morselicious March Amateur = Love

It’s MORSELICIOUS March-National Nutrition Month!

Have you thought about your passion for nutrition and health?  March is the PERFECT month to do so and challenge yourself! Along the same line, have you really considered the meaning of words we use every day? Or perused the dictionary just for fun? Today, choose ONE word you have already read or uttered and look it up.  Does it really mean what you think it does or have we taken it out of context in our everyday vernacular the new connotation has become possibly skewed?

Where am I going with this, you ask?  Well, since March is National Nutrition Month, something The Morselist is incredibly passionate about, I decided to look up different ways and words to express passion or love to encourage you to try something new and in the process, I learned something new, which gave me a new perspective.  The word “amateur” came up and here are 2 definitions in the dictionary:

“Amateur” – noun
1.
a person who engages in a study, sport, or other activity for pleasure rather than for financial benefit or professional reasons.
2.
a person who admires something; devotee; fan.

Note, neither of the above definitions describes an amateur as a hack or “less than qualified”, which is the context I have used the term.  From now on, I would be honored to call myself an amateur in subjects I pursue with love and passion.

You may be wondering WHY The Morselist is blogging about the meaning of words and nutrition month. Well, we all have passions and missions to continue our Morselicious Healthy Lifestyle and trying something new, changing our perspective enables us to do that. Make sense?  Kinda cool? I welcome you to share your passion or mission by posting a comment below and join me in a MORSELICIOUS March into National Nutrition Month! 🙂
