June, 2026, Summer Rainbow Yum & Fun For Your Brain and Soul

June is bustin’ out all over with a rainbow of veggies and fruit galore! Which new ones will you explore?

Eat a Morselicious Rainbow

Do you prefer picnics or bbq’s? Summer is the time for Al Fresco dining and outdoor fun, whether by the lake, river, ocean, mountains, or pick your favorite place.Β  Personally, the desert is too hot for me in the summertime, but hey, if that’s cool with you. Ha! See what I did there?

June is also Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, and what better way to challenge your brain while having fun than to take a ukulele class? Melanie Kareem is my favorite uke teacher, and she offers a free introductory mini-session. Check out getstartedplayingukulele.com and tell her Mo sent you. You will love her and her class! Music heals and challenges our brains, a perfect combo!

Celebrate Pride Month and don’t forget to eat a rainbow of veggies, and some fruit for your brain. Blueberries are at the top of the list. Not a fan of blueberries? Try blackberries, raspberries, strawberries…and always eat your dark leafy greens. Arugula and massaged or steamed kale are my favorites. Cruciferous veggies; ie, broccoli, cauliflower, broccolini (I just love saying that) Broccolini! And, Morselist tip: for better nutrient absorption, pair with a healthy fat. Avocados and extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) are two of my favorites. Nuts and seeds are also great!

June 21st is Father’s Day, and I sure miss my dad, Mac, the inspiration for Mac-n-Mo’s, but we celebrate his memory all year round! If your dad is still around, enjoy your time with him, and celebrate with something yummy!

Got a burning question for the summer? Send me a message here or on Instagram. Summer is a wonderful season to recharge, reset, and reflect.

XO,

Mo, the Morselist (aka, Maura)
