Happy Morselicious Monday!
Hope you had a grand weekend. What did you do?
This Morselist celebrated her sister’s birthday with her family and had a ball!
The first night I arrived, my sister took me to her kitchen and said, “O.K. Mo, the Morselist, I want to try one of these Green Smoothies. I went to the store and bought all the ingredients I’ve been reading about. Now, since it’s my birthday, get busy!”
For years, we’ve sung our own version of the rap …”It’s your birthday, get busy…”
I digress! I figured since we had not had dessert yet and it was HOT HOT HOT, that I would wean my sister into my favorite smoothies, so I grabbed a bunch of:
- Organic Spinach
- Zucchini
- Scoop of Living Harvest Hemp Protein Powder
- 2 TBSP Dagoba Unsweetened Cocoa
- 1 TBSP Dagoba Authentic Drinking Chocolate (low in sugar)
- Cinnamon
- Cayenne
- Ice
- So Delicious Unsweetened Coconut Milk
and blended into a decadent FROZEN SPINACH HOT COCOA MOCO Treat
I handed the dark chocolate iciness to my sister:
S “This isn’t green.”
M “I know. Just taste.”
S “But I’ve had your Frozen Hot Chocolate’s before.”
M “This has a twist and it’s my MOco version.”
One sip and she was HOOKED!
S “YUM! What is it?”
When I told her, she had to come to the kitchen to see for herself.
S. There’s SPINACH in here? I can’t even taste it!
M “I told you to trust your Big Sister. Have I EVER let you down?”
And BEFORE she could answer, I quickly poured more into her glass, “DON’T ANSWER THAT! Slainte! ” (An Irish Toast)
Hope you enjoy your FROZEN SPINACH HOT COCOA MOCO Treat.
And when you do, raise a glass in honor of my Baby Sister’s Birthday!!!
NOTE: for a nuttier flavor & protein crunch, add 2 Tbsp. NUTIVA Hemp Seeds
I love the idea of “sneaking” healthy stuff into my meals! This sounds great! Now if only I could get a Big Sister to make one for ME. 🙂 And yes, Happy Birthday to Ms. Seana, “Serving as your Guinea Pig since 19….”
hee hee!
Let me know if you try it, Liz and it
was GREAT meeting you!!!
Love your stories! Happy B-day to your sis! Your recipe sounds so interesting, can’t wait to try!!!
Thanks so much for the compliment & the bday wishes for Seana!!
I bet this taste really good… I am always looking for new “green” recipes. This is being put on the “to-make” list! 🙂
thanks, Alex!
Let me know when you “do make!”
You have a way of making seemingly incongruent things go together–I’ll have to try this one too!
Happy Birthday to your baby sister! (ps. Baby sisters should always listen to their big sisters…hmmm, can you tell what I am!)
Thanks so much, Karen!
From one big sister to another… 🙂
It was simply scrumptious!
I LIKE the term “simply scrumptious!”
