Morselicious Monday & a recipe!

Happy Morselicious Monday!

Hope you had a grand weekend!
Mine was quite productive:
The Friday Food Fair in Pasadena was fantastic and thank you, Scott, for creating my beautiful display!
Saturday’s Demos at www.mothersmarket.com Costa Mesa & Laguna Woods were wonderful. I met lots of super cool people and gained a new ADORABLE Morsel Sized Morsel Fan. This 2-year-old LOVES the Chocolate Chip Morsels!
Sunday was exactly what Sunday’s are supposed to be, but I, for one, am guilty of RARELY following the rules.
I RELAXED! And it was FANFRIGGINTASTIC!!
Taking a break from daily routines and rituals can be exactly what the Dr. prescribed!
Breaks & Rituals (click for the previous blog)
My morning started with a delectable cup of coffee with Coconut Milk (such a TREAT) and then putzed around in my garden repotting,  pruning and watering my delightful desert plants! Gardening burns some calories and I needed fuel,
so I created another tasty & healthy smoothie for breakfast (see recipe below), got in a great work out and then met
Doug for a massage! AAAAAAHHHHHH!

The benefits and powers a good deep tissue massage offers are priceless!
While my masseuse was getting every knot and kink worked out, my mind began to wander, as minds do, and I dreamt of the day when I can afford my own personal masseuse or at least, once a week, heck, I’d really love one a day!
Someone asked me when I first moved to L.A., “If you had a plethora of extra spending
money, what luxuries would you splurge on?” I didn’t have to think more than a second!
1) A Chauffer (anyone who lives in L.A. has GOT to understand this!)
2) A Masseuse
I’ve never been a super frilly gal. I can count on one hand the number of mani/pedi’s and facials I’ve had and being an Actor in this town, that’s kind of unheard of, yet, I’ve always been a dabbler (is that even a word?) in D.I.Y. creative experiments.
It started in elementary school when I tried to hatch an egg by putting it under my dolls in their own special doll crib.
The stench piqued my Mom’s curiosity and horror, which quickly ended that failed experiment.
You might recall, another failed DIY experiment: Remember the birthday cake I made for my dog, Porky?
There are plenty more, many of them include DIY facial & hair masks, but I’ll save those for a future funnier blog.
And, for the record, we all learn from our mistakes.
Right?
Remember the blog:  Learning from our mistakes
You are probably wondering, is there a morsel to this story? YES! Life is about choices
and since I don’t have a bottomless pocketbook (I know, who uses that word anymore?) I have to choose between regular mani/pedis or occasional-much needed and very SPECIAL massages.
The chauffer?!  Still dreaming!! And in this L.A. Traffic,  I’m thinking a helicopter pilot is more practical!
How do you splurge?
What do you LOVE to do on your day off?
Do you have a dream day?
Please share! And enjoy this Morselicious GREEN Smoothie Recipe: Trust me, you don’t even taste the spinach & why wouldn’t you want the extra nutrients to start your day?

3/4 C Unsweetened SO DELICIOUS Coconut Milk
2 Tbsp www.nowfoods.com Flax Meal

      weather cools down, I’ll resume
      shipping morsels!

  2. For a two-year old to sample and like good healthy food IS what it’s all about. She will surely adopt healthy patterns for life. Your food and recipes are so amazing!!!

Glad you fit the massage into your super busy schedule… you deserve it.!

  3. I was at the Mother’s Market demo in Costa Mesa on Saturday and got to try these delicious treats. My favorites are chocolate chip and the pumpkin cranberry. Even my kids are digging the chocolate chip morsels and I don’t have to worry about how much refined sugar I am feeding them! Thanks Maura, we love them!

  4. I’m there with you on the Masseuse and the Chauffer!
Thanks for sharing – and I will definitely have to try this recipe (luv coconut milk and sneaking in greens where ever I can)!!
