Learning from our mistakes

If you’ve never made a mistake, you’ve never tried something new.”

How dull would life be if we never tried something new? I make mistakes daily.

Yes, it’s frustrating and yes, it’s part of the learning curve. Would I trade it to be perfect?

Remember: Practice makes progress.

I’ll admit, there are days I wish I could be perfect, I mean PROGRESSFUL (I know, NOT a real word), but the mistakes I’ve made and continue to make along the way, have taught me far more than any book or guru could teach me. It’s hands-on-practical-LIFE 101.

Think about your life and the new things you’ve tried or wanted to try but were afraid because you MIGHT make a mistake.* What’s the worst that can happen?
You’ll learn that lesson, hopefully NOT repeat the same mistake next time, and move a step or two forward. I tend to move or dance in a zig-zag pattern and joke that I have done everything backward, though it’s actually quite true. Yes, it makes life more unknown AND exciting. Yes, scary.Yes, frustrating, at times.

TRUST ME! There are days I want to throw my oven mitts and computer through the window. Isn’t this true of most of us, if we’re being completely honest?
Fear of the unknown can be debilitating for some. Good or bad, I thrive on it 99% of the time.

To quote my favorite composer, Stephen Sondheim, “well, excited and scared.”

That just about sums up the core of who I am and what I’m doing. And, by the by, one of my “disastrous” mistakes occurred when I forgot to set the timer and my morsels baked a few minutes longer than normal. Guess what? The crispier outer edges were a HIT! Lesson learned.
Come and join me in living & loving life and embrace all the mistakes and lessons we can learn & teach each other.

Please POST your comments and let’s start our own CLASSROOM!

Have a MORSELICIOUS Day!!!

*By mistakes, I’m not talking about dangerous or harmful mistakes.
