We all have dreams and goals, whether it be to find love, take a well deserved vacation, change our diet & lifestyle into a healthier one, find a new exercise routine, write a book, sell a book, get out of a job we hate or don’t find fulfilling any longer, start our own business and/or grow our own business.
We always have a choice. The choice to stay put or the choice to change or move ahead.
Or in plainer terms, the choice of “Yes” or “No.” Life is movement and movement creates life or at the least, movement creates a life.
Today. This hour. This week. This month, how about saying “YES!” to making one change, no matter how simple or small. Just MOVE!!! Use these tools to help guide you or create your own.
1. What things have you done consistently to get where you are today? Are you content? Fulfilled?
Do you still have the same passion and
excitement or have you lost your drive and enthusiasm?
Pick a couple of things that have worked for you & now try a few new ones.
For example, if you love hiking, but are sick of your trails, explore a new one. Take a friend. OR, maybe try bike riding? Swimming?
2. Set your overall goal and focus on achieving it for
at least 45 minutes every day. Reach to your support group for help. Steal time for yourself.
Stealing time for ourselves is always tricky. I steal my time early in the morning before most people are awake to avoid disruptions. Movement includes moving towards a much needed rest by taking time for yourself near the ocean, river, lake, park or garden.
Write down your goals & keep your eye on the target.
Do you have a hero or mentor? What skills, qualities and
characteristics do they have? How would they accomplish this goal? goals?
It’s usually easier for us to picture someone else doing what we strive to do & by doing this, allows us to create a more doable plan by using theirs as a guideline.
3. Mix it up! Find new ways to plan your work and work your plan.
Yes, there is a difference. Start doing & get moving!
Statistics show that it takes 21 days to create a new habit. Give yourself at least that amount of time before trying a new plan of attack & remember, when the going gets tough, the tough get ahead or at least, get MOVING!
PLEASE, share your comments, experiences with us by leaving a COMMENT at the bottom of this blog. We’d LOVE to hear from you.
Great blog. We all get complacent in our lives, routines, jobs and relationships over time and I know how difficult change can be. I also know that if I can just take that first small step towards something new, it is always easier. Thank you for reminding me to wake up and see what else I can do to make my life better – one step at a time. To quote Kennedy, “change is good.”
Thanks for the comment. Love that quote!
