Mac-n-Mo’s Tip O’ the day: Face your fears

“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”  ~James Baldwin

How’s that for a Sunday Morning wake-up call?

I LOVE this quote because we ALL have fears and if you’re like me, the last thing you WANT to do is face them. It’s so much easier to ignore, sweep under the rug,
or hardwood floor planks. However, if we want to grow and move past or better, THROUGH our fears, we must face them head-on.

What’s the worst that will happen? We’re already afraid.
Think of THE WORSE CASE SCENARIO HANDBOOK.

Some of us fear confrontation and instead, we stew and fret about the “what if’s” and “who’s it’s.” When, in reality, if we confronted whoever or whatever we needed to speak our mind to, we might actually, get what we want OR at least feel so much better about being clear, honest with ourselves while honoring our wishes.

I was afraid of starting my own business, and after making EVERY excuse possible listing why I SHOULDN’T do it, my sister asked me, “how will you feel if someone else does what you WANT to do?”

That fear was enough inspiration to make me GO FOR IT AND DO!

Remember yesterday’s blog?

Some of us have more extreme fears, like flying or heights and reality shows thrive on these people facing them by jumping out of planes or bungee jumping
from tall towers. While, these are extreme measures, the analogy is the same, which brings me to two inspiring quotes:

“Take the leap of faith and a net will appear.”

“Courage is fears that has answered its prayers.”
