MORSELICIOUS MONDAY!

Happy MORSELICIOUS Monday!

Soo much to share after an incredible weekend health conference

for IIN (Institute for Integrative Nutrition)

Will share soon…

For now, this quote sang and rang to me a few days ago and I LOVE it!

“Don’t let other people tell you what you want.”
– Pat Riley

What does this mean for you? Please share!! I’d LOVE to hear!

  1. I think if we took a step back for a minute, we would realize that most, not all, but most of us have allowed people to ‘tell us what we want’ over the years. I think this can also be defined as ‘peer pressure.’ How many times have you NOT done something because someone (a parent, friend, etc.) might not approve because you weren’t doing something the way they want (or the way it has always been done). I remember the first time a woman wore slacks my church in Nashville. The gossip and rumors that flew around – you would have thought there was going to be a second coming right then and there – because no one had ever worn slacks to church before – how horrible!! Now, it’s a common thing.

As we grow older, we start finding out what works for US in life and we stop caring more and more what other people want/like/think. Of course, we never want to offend anyone, but you learn over time that you can’t be responsible for every person’s feelings. It takes (and is still taking) a long time to get there, but once we can all decide what WE, as individuals, want/like/think, etc., the more we will personally be able to grow.

I guess this really sparked something in me today!!

I hope that makes sense . . . however, it doesn’t matter what you think, it makes sense to me – LOL

    1. I LOVE this, Reece and yes, I understand exactly what you’re saying.
We are all victims of this at some point in our lives.
For those of us lucky to follow what WE truly want to do and NOT what others want us to do, we are blessed! Thanks for sharing!

  2. gosh, mo, that quote brings up so many thoughts! i think it is a wise thing to remember, as we put our energies out in the world, doing whatever it is that we are passionate about. only you know what it is that you really want, and it can be difficult to even acknowledge that. but then to allow someone else to push you into denying your own wisdom, whether about your passion or your health) can be very damaging. it’s also difficult for many people to stick to what they believe and know to be true for themselves. i’m not sure i’m describing my thoughts as clearly as i’d like to, but wow, that quote is one heavy-duty, thought-provoking morsel! thanks! can’t wait to hear about your health conference, too. take care, jill
