Success & Obstacles

“Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he (she) has overcome.” -Booker T. Washington 1856-1915

How true is this statement? Are your ears burning? It definitely relates to yesterday’s blog:  Be the solution…

And, I know we ALL have obstacles. Remember when we were kids and our playground was an OBSTACLE COURSE? I, for one, loved those things. Did you and your friends compete to see who finished or climbed over that crazy net wall first? Didn’t we have fun?!

What if we looked at our life’s obstacles as a kind of playground?

A game?

Just for a moment. I like to think of life as always providing some type of net.

“Take the leap and a net will appear.”

Mac-n-Mo’s Tip O’ the day: Face your fears

This Morselist can attest to this, even if my net often has bigger holes. I like to think the bigger holes are just more of life’s challenges to make sure I’m paying attention and using my agility/flexibility muscles. And, yes, I am now able to do the splits!

Whichever net your obstacle course presents, are you ready to take the leap and shine in your success?!

Have a Morselicious day!!!

  1. I read that quote with my accountant/business advisor hat on. The best reason to measure something is to be able to compare it with your goal and make adjustments if needed.

Characterizing something as an obstacle doesn’t further the ultimate goal of measuring success, but I will say this: If you already know how to do everything it takes to accomplish your goals, then your goals aren’t big enough!

  2. Absolutely true,

.“Success is to be measured not so much by the position
that one has reached in life as by the
obstacles which he (she) has overcome.”

Now to get everyone else to understand………..
